Rally for Gun Violence Research with New Orleans Mayor Cantrell

Gun violence has reached a 40-year high. Yet research funding has been virtually absent for over 20 years.

Join medical professionals and advocates from Giffords, the American Academy of Pediatrics Louisiana Chapter, American Medical Student Association, Doctors for America, This Is Our Lane, and more for a rally to support funding for gun violence research.

There’s no better time than right now. The U.S. House of Representatives included $50 million funding for research in their appropriations bill, but the Senate needs to act too.

At this event you will hear from:

– Mayor LaToya Cantrell
– Abigail Solomon, AMSA
– Christine Petrin, Doctors for America
– Dr. Joseph Constans
– Dr. Rebecca Schroll, Trauma Surgeon
– Dr. Lee Engel, American College of Physicians
– Dr. Kristin Van Hook, AAP

RSVP here. We’ll see you there. If you are a medical professional, wear your scrubs or white coat!

Location Details: The event will take place in the Patrick F. Taylor Library at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. There are two entrances to the library. Guests can enter directly to the library off of Andrew Higgins Boulevard or through the main entrance of the museum off of Camp Street.
