Know Your Rights + Security Deposit Training

On Saturday, July 27th at 11am, The Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative, Public Library of New Orleans and the New Orleans Renters Rights Assembly will host a “Know Your Rights” training and security deposit clinic training. If you or someone you know has had questions about their rights, if you want to know what you can do to protect yourself, then please come to this event.

Additionally, if you want to learn about how to get your security deposit back PLUS help stop security deposit theft, please come to the first ever in New Orleans “Security Deposit Clinic ” training. We are holding this to teach others and their communities about what they should do to get their security deposit back and what to do if your landlord steals it.

Free food provided for attendees. Children are welcome as well. This training is being conducted by Hannah Adams, a lawyer who specializes in housing, landlord and tenant law here in Louisiana.

Schedule:
– 11am Security Deposit clinic training (how to get your security deposit back and how to sue if it’s kept illegally).
– 12pm to 1pm Know Your Rights: Laws, Protections and Rules + Lunch provided.
– 1pm to 1:30pm Questions

Location:
New Orleans Public Library
Main Library 3rd Floor Meeting Room
