Wednesday, September 11, 2019 – An internal memo sent by WWL Radio parent company Entercom to station employees says that a homophobic tweet posted from the station’s official Twitter account “does not reflect WWL or the company’s values or standards of decency.”
The memo was sent out by Kevin Cassidy, the Senior Vice President and Market Manager at Entercom overseeing WWL Radio since November 2018. He also oversees WEZB-FM (B97), WKBU-FM(Bayou 95.7), WLMG-FM (Magic 101.9), and WWWL-AM (The New Hot 92.9 FM). The memo was sent to Big Easy Magazine by an anonymous source.
“Immediately after the incident, I spoke directly with Seth to express my outrage and apologized that he was on the receiving end of this tweet,” Cassidy states. “I also shared with him that I was personally disgusted by it. I want Seth and everyone to know that WWL, Entercom and I support him and we are thankful to have him on our team.”
Although there has been speculation across social media regarding who could have sent the tweet, Cassidy maintains that the company investigation is ongoing. However, the memo suggests that it was the result of an employee’s actions rather than an outside hack.
“The company takes this breach of policy and ethics seriously. At this time, we do not know the author, but are taking all possible steps to uncover his or her identity.”

Hey Jenn Bentley…come on! You guys aren’t buying this BS are you? WWL “leaked” these memos intentionally to make it appear as if they gave a sh**. They are an extension of the Saints PR group. They have simply ignored this, as have Brees and The Saints, because the LGBTQ community is of no use or concern for them unless it directly relates to a buck they can make. This whole thing could have been put to rest one way or the other had Brees either 1) clarified and/or specifically rejected the premise that Focus on The Family has always stood for or 2) been willing to have a sit down with Seth based on the letter so he (Brees) could hear first hand what we face in the LGBTQ community every single day. Brees didn’t, became defensive as if to dare people to even question his actions. Simply another example of LGBTQ people being marginalized and demonized. This is exactly what Focus on the Family does and the press is complicit in this because you are afraid to push the issue with rich and powerful people and groups.
Big Easy broke the story on this, and since some decided to poke fun at us for causing the injury, we decided this would make good satire.
