nolaNOW Theatre Company is a non-profit theatre company founded by two young women, New Orleans native Coco Guillot, and Madeline Kolker, in and for New Orleans. Through contemporary storytelling and theater productions, nolaNOW aims to highlight both the assets and anxieties of living in our present day and age. Their values of intimacy, mindfulness, and empathy are directly in line with those that we hold dear at Big Easy Magazine: kindness, compassion, equality, love, justice, and inclusiveness.
We are excited that nolaNOW recently announced their first production will be Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries, a raw and compelling exploration of human connection in the modern world. Over the course of 30 nonlinear years, lifelong friends Kayleen and Doug watch each other’s lives unfold and evolve through times of physical and emotional turmoil. Their production will include an added layer of depth, as Kayleen and Doug explore their queerness through their non-traditional casting.
They will have three performances at the following dates and times: Friday, November 16th at 7:30pm; Saturday, November 17th at 7:30pm; and Sunday, November 18th at 2pm. All performances will be held at Church of Yoga, located at 1480 N Rocheblave Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
General Admission tickets are $15, and Student tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased by going to the “On Stage” link at https://www.nolanowtheatre.com/. If you cannot attend, please consider supporting this growing company at https://www.patreon.com/nolanowtheatre.
